Vertical sliding glass wall for restaurants, terraces and balconies. Glass panels rise and lower on a Somfy motor
Frameless sliding glass doors for patios and terraces. 8-10 mm tempered glass, 7 mm low threshold, modular tracks
Insulated sliding glass doors with a 22 mm double pane unit on aluminum guides, for terraces and verandas
Frameless panels fold to the side and clear the opening, up to 20 m wide. For patios, terraces, cafes and balconies
Top-hung glass panels slide on curves and park at the side. Zero threshold, no floor track
Commercial automatic sliding glass doors for shops, offices and hotels with high foot traffic
A glass patio enclosure closes a space without closing the view. Aluminante builds it frameless and folding, frameless and sliding, lifting like a guillotine, or insulated for a room that gets heated. There is also an automatic sliding door for an entrance that sees constant foot traffic.
The choice is driven by what the opening has to do: disappear completely, slide, lift out of the way, or hold heat through the winter.
| System | How it works | Glazing | Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| SPAZIO Q15 | Frameless folding, panels stack to the side | tempered glass 8 to 10 mm | panel up to 1 000 × 3 000 mm |
| ORIZZONTE | Frameless sliding on aluminum guides | tempered glass 10 mm, not insulated | panel 1 000 × 3 500 mm; opening 20 000 mm and more on modular tracks |
| ORIZZONTE THERMO | Insulated sliding glazing | double-glazed insulated unit | leaf up to 1 000 × 3 000 mm; up to 11 000 mm long without posts |
| SKYLINE | Guillotine, the glazing lifts vertically | tempered glass 8 to 10 mm or insulated unit up to 22 mm; SKYLINE Thermo (thermal break) from 20 up to 36 mm | structure up to 4 500 × 4 500 mm (SKYLINE Thermo: sized per project) |
| ASPETTO | Top-hung stacking glass walls, zero threshold | tempered glass 10 mm | panel up to 1 000 × 4 500 mm |
For shop and hotel entrances, see SPARBU automatic sliding doors.
A glazed terrace, or glass veranda, works in two seasons instead of one. In summer the panels stack away and the room is open; in the fall they close and the space keeps the wind and the rain out while the view stays.
Frameless systems suit restaurants and villas where the glass must not be cut up by frames. Guillotine glazing suits street fronts where there is no room to stack panels sideways: the panels park in the beam above or in the floor below. In a heated room, a frame without a thermal break sweats in winter, which is why SKYLINE also comes as SKYLINE Thermo.
The same terrace usually takes a roof as well: see aluminum skylights and glass roofs and pergolas.
Guillotine glazing lifts the panels vertically on a motor, so the opening clears completely and nothing sticks out into the room or the street. SKYLINE takes tempered glass from 8 to 10 mm or an insulated unit up to 22 mm, in a structure up to 4 500 by 4 500 mm.
A thermally broken version, SKYLINE Thermo, takes an insulated unit from 20 up to 36 mm for a heated room. Its size is set per project.
It answers a cafe or restaurant front where a sliding leaf has nowhere to go, and it works just as well at kitchen-pass-through size, or on a balcony too narrow for a stacking panel. See a SKYLINE project.
A storefront or a restaurant wall can run past 20 meters wide. ORIZZONTE closes an opening that size on modular tracks that join end to end. A door that opens itself is a different problem: SPARBU Q35 is rated for a million cycles before the first service, 75 kg for a single leaf and 125 kg for a two-leaf door in one option, 150 kg and 250 kg in the other.
Choose sliding (ORIZZONTE) for very wide openings on one threshold, and folding (SPAZIO) when you want the opening to clear completely. SPAZIO folds and stacks to the sides, up to 20 m wide.
Only if the terrace is used as a heated room in winter. ORIZZONTE THERMO uses a double-glazed unit, while ORIZZONTE and SPAZIO suit seasonal use.
ASPETTO. It hangs from the top, so there is no lower profile on the floor. ORIZZONTE has a low 7 mm threshold.
Glass panels that close the sides of a patio or terrace, usually under a pergola or a glass roof. In Europe the same job is called terrace glazing. Our enclosures fold, slide or lift, depending on the system.
Glazing where the vertical joints between panels have no profile: only tempered glass and a slim track top and bottom. SPAZIO folds the panels to one side, ORIZZONTE slides them.
Glazing that lifts vertically instead of sliding sideways, so the opening clears completely. Our system is SKYLINE, up to 4 500 by 4 500 mm.
Tempered glass 10 mm in ORIZZONTE and ASPETTO, 8 to 10 mm in SPAZIO, tempered 8 to 10 mm or an insulated unit up to 22 mm in SKYLINE (from 20 up to 36 mm in the thermal-break SKYLINE Thermo), and a double-glazed unit in ORIZZONTE THERMO. The exact pack is set per project.
Yes. ORIZZONTE, SPAZIO, ASPETTO and SKYLINE are compatible with ACURA, VISTA and SKYTECH, and PRADA sides can be closed with SKYLINE or ORIZZONTE.
